This about 8‑hour excursion takes you from your hotel to the Fathala Reserve, where you can see white rhinoceroses, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes and the Derby eland, with a local guide and all the comfort of private transport. WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE • Crossing the Gambia River by ferry: early pick‑up at your hotel and transfer to Banjul to board. During the crossing it may get cool, so we recommend bringing a light jacket. • Border with Senegal: after the ferry, you will continue by road to the border. Bring your passport, it is essential to cross. Then a short drive in the same vehicle to the reserve. • 4x4 safari in Fathala: tour the reserve with maximum visibility, accompanied by a local guide who will help you locate the free‑roaming animals and explain their behavior and curiosities. You can adjust the safari length to your pace, shorter or longer. • Lunch by the pond: eat at the reserve’s restaurant (optional), in front of a natural pond that attracts the animals. • Return to your hotel: back through the border to Gambia, another ferry crossing to Banjul and transfer to your accommodation.
